The Cost: There is no charge for an initial evaluation but you must bring me the hard drive or the computer that it is in. I charge my regular house call fee of $40 to pick up a hard drive from your location. There will be no charge If after I evaluate your hard drive I determine that data recovery is not possible. If I determine that data recovery is possible, I will give you an estimated cost. This estimate will range from a minimum of $25 to a maximum of $300. On average I am able to recover data from 7 out of 10 hard drives. Be advised that only data files are targeted for recovery. Operating system files and program files are normally not recovered since those must be installed from the original installation discs.

Turnaround Time: The initial evaluation of your hard drive will only take a few hours. Based on the results of that evaluation further extensive diagnostics may be needed. The entire process including the actual data recovery could take up to 14 days.
